So I'm sorry for my recent inactivity, but I've been really busy maintaining Ashes is full-time job.
I'm gonna post my most recent WoW-Forum post regarding this issue, it explains most of what happened with the guild.

So there has been a lot of rumors spreading throughout the server lately and I think it's about time I told everyone exactly what happened to prevent further rumors or misunderstandings.
Ashes reached it's pinnacle a few weeks ago, however we had been constantly plagued with inactivity, low attendance and our strong raiding core was weakening because of this low attendance. So we merged with another guild (Living Legends) and pushed forward, however one of our officers (Scullcrasher's right hand) got overly stressed with several issues that starting arising and transfered to another server. Right before he transfered out, two other key members suddenly decided to leave, dunno if they were recruited out or applied to another guild, they never told me so I never bothered to know.
As anyone can imagine, this placed a lot of pressure in Scull's shoulders. 2 weeks after this, Scullcrasher announced in our guild forums we was going to retire and transfer to another server within one week or so.
Despite my efforts to try and help, he still did it. Scullcrasher (former Guild/Raid Leader) left the server.
Needless to say that a lot of raiders who were already used to farming MH / BT suddenly decided they cba to struggle through SSC / TK again to gear new raiders for our guild, so after Scullcrasher left our strong core took some extremely heavy blows, heavy to the point of me starting out a Healer. Because at the moment we have the tanks, but very little healing power.
So this is what happened to , within a time-space of 3 weeks we lost several T6 / T5 geared raiders. Does this mean will end ? Never. Ashes is here to stay, I'm not Scullcrasher when it comes to raid leading, he had far more experience then me on that field, but I've raid lead in BT & MH, and when it comes to tanking ... well my guildies can speak for that. We still have quite strong members among our ranks and we are aggressively recruiting, and we'll tackle everything all over again, because this is what we like to do. We are raiders and as long as there are players we will raid. If we wipe, we wipe (goldz = ezmode in TBC so don't bull@@%@ me with repair costs), if we down the boss, we down the boss. It's that simple, as long as there are challenges to overcome and players to overcome them there's nothing we can't do.
So enough with crap rumors that are gone, far from it, we are here to stay, but we are fighting and learning alot of fights from scratch (new members) and if you can't handle a wipe or two then GTFO.
It's actually that simple, because I'm not Scullcrasher, and I won't tolerate "I'm tired of wiping." attitudes, as most people can tell you, when I was leading because Scull couldn't come, my principle was "As long as I have enough people to continue raiding, I will, regardless of the outcome".

What can I promise you ? Lots of fighting and fun, no illusions, I can assure you that all the current members know the current guild situation, and they stay because they choose to. Just like you will always know our current position should you join our ranks. I employ quite simple and blunt principles and the only people I want around me are those that are willing to fight, so in a way all the /gquitters have done to is unite the core even more, and open up positions for other dedicated players.
I hope this clarifies any doubts anyone has regarding our current position and stance.
