[rant] Warriors and Tanking

Hello again,

It seems whenever I start writing I just don't run out of ideas for some reason, specially when I'm ranting, I love me a good rant.

Anyways, I just had to come back rant a bit on Warrior Tanking:

- Weakest Tank in an AoE setting (they are able to do it, but any of the other tanks can do it better).
- Worst tank DPS out of all the other tanks (unless you go for gimmicky UA builds, which I'm not even sure work anymore)
- Lowest HPs of all the other Tanks.
- Most complex tank (and this is a good thing !)

Going through this it seems the upcoming changes are actually quite ridiculous from a tank perspective, Paladins can get rid of snares by cleansing or BoFing, Bears can Shapeshift out of them, Death Knights can yank their targets closer if they get stuck, and warriors? well it seems the only choice for the warrior is going to be Look for a raid member nearby, intervene them and then charge the mob you're supposed to be tanking. Just feels kind of crappy to now also fit the description of worst CC-breaker alongside lowest DPS (which is also getting nerfed through shield slam changes and concussion blow.

And bare in mind it has already been admitted by Blizzard that a lot of the changes put in place tanking-wise were made to herd the population away from Warrior Tanks, it's like saying "We don't really care what you like, we're gonna make everything else better until we achieve our class 'balance'."

A statist people, that's what we are.

[rant]Swifty, Blizzard and Warriors.

I just have a minor rant I would like to make here, and since I'm banned from the official WoW forums for rage-replying to one troll too many, this is my 'rant' venue.

Anyways, anyone that follows up on Warriors, should be familiar with Swifty, author of Incredible Warrior Tricks (google it up or look for it @ warcraftmovies).

Swifty is (or should be) known for is innovative nature regarding warrior PvP, and his die-hard passion for his Warrior, some people might not respect this, but being a full time warrior, I do.

Basically a few months ago Blizzard made the talent Juggernaut, this talent was obviously a staple talent for PvP Warriors. However in this effort to bring back a long dead tree (before this talent Warriors were basically the very bottom of the food chain, with one or two exceptions of sucess (Fury spec) Blizzard made one mistake, they forgot how many people were actually playing warriors, thus when they finally made the Warrior's PvP tree viable again, the Death Knight re-rollers came pouring back in with their mains, immediatly
Knee-jerk reaction nº1, nerf Juggernaut's Mortal Strike crit chance.
Knee-jerk reaction nº2, decrease charge benefits from glyphs, turning a major glyph into a piece of crap.
Knee-jerk reaction nº3, in the first time since the beginning of WoW history, a Talent that actually INCREASES the cooldown of a baseline skill.

Shortly after this nerf, Swifty began fooling around with the concept of having a Block Value set to make a huge Shield Slam (I'm not claiming he was the first, in I myself was already fooling around with this idea). So he did it, he made a video and ...

Knee-jerk reaction nº4, Cap block value contribution to Shield Slam damage.

At this point, Switfy came back with an ArP Crit build around protection spec (/w warbringer talent) where he showed Protection PvP was still a viable PvP spec.

Knee-jerk reaction nº5, Upcoming nerfs to warbringer, effectively destroying protection PvP's main advantage (mobility). And slicing Concussion Blow's damage in half, on top of (again) reducing the Block Value contribution to Shield Slam damage, effectively destroying the spec PvP-wise altogether.

Basically it just seems whenever Warriors stick their head a little bit above the crowd they immediately beat us down with the nerf bat. It does seem however the same thing doesn't apply to Paladins, or Death Knights ...

I'm going to resume updating this baby, I reckon most people who do read this already know about my youtube channel, which also only receives updates every now and then ...

It's been hard adapting myself to a few lifestyle changes that have been happening recently, however I really want to organize my 'Online Life' and this involves a few changes in habit, and also using the new sexy social websites that are around now, such as twitter, the new WoW Armory, etc.

Anyways right on topic, since I stopped updating this blog a few things happened, which my youtube followers will have known about, but I will resume them here :
- Changed Job.
- Current Job's Company Management Changed
- Moved out of my parent's house with my lovely (and extremely sexy) girlfriend Senslyn.
- Stopped Playing WoW for 3 Months to try out Aion (and lost my chance to get a purple proto drake this year).
- Resumed playing WoW because Aion is shit. (This is my opinion you don't have to agree with me, but I'd appreciate you wouldn't pop a nerd vein trying to convince me of how wrong I am because that's not gonna change anything tbh ... on second thought DO POP a nerd vein in my blog comment sections, at least it will dust it off).
- Joined a new Late Night Guild because my old one kinda disbanded.
- My Current Characters are (All on EU-Silvermoon) : Rurikhan, Torunn, Rurikain, Modrik.
